Instructions for making cross dc:
Skip 1 st, dc in next st.

Yarn over, insert hook into the stitch you’ve just skipped, yarn over, pull out loop.

Yarn over, pull yarn through 2 loops on the hook. Yarn over, pull yarn through last 2 loops on the hook.

The cross dc is complete.
Instructions for making picot:
Ch 3,

sl st into the top of the st you’ve made right before making ch 3.

The picot is complete.
Headband Pattern:
Start with a chain long enough to fit around your head with I-hook (5.5 mm) (or another large hook you’ve chosen). Count the number of stitches you have, and make sure you have an even number of stitches, add or remove one if needed. Join in round with sl st, making sure that the chain is not twisted. Make the starting chain fit tightly around your head (or head of the person you are making the headband for).
Now switch to a smaller hook.
Round 1: Ch 3(starting ch does not count as dc throughout this pattern), dc in ea ch. Join with sl st.
(At this point make sure that the headband is the correct size and fits well.)
Round 2: Ch 3, cross dc around. Join with sl st.
Round 3: Ch 3, dc in ea ch. Join with sl st.
Fasten off and weave in ends. Attach flower.
Flower Pattern:
Round 1: Start with 6 sc in magic loop, join round with sl st.
Round 2: [Ch 2, sl st in next sc] 6 times.
Round 3: [Sl st in next ch 3 space, ch 2, 2 dc, picot, 2 dc, ch 2, sl st in same ch 3 sp] 6 times.
Fasten off and weave in ends.
I hope you enjoy this pattern!

  4. I love this headband! I added a pearl bead to the center of my flower. It's so pretty. Thank you so much for the free pattern. I'm going to make a few of these to sell at a fundraiser for a friend who has leukemia, would that be alright? I don't want to do anything wrong :) Thank you!
