Free Crochet Pattern: Bath Puff

A super cute crochet bath puff that would make a perfect Valentine's Day gift.

Supplies: Worsted weight cotton yarn, H-hook (4.25 mm)

Skill Level: Easy

Chain 46, double crochet in 7th chain from hook, {chain 3, double crochet in 4th stitch from hook} repeat 10 times.

Chain 4, turn, 8 treble crochets in each chain space space between double crochets of the previous row on one side only.

Chain 3, turn, slip stitch in next stitch, {chain 3, slip stitch in next stitch} repeat until you reach the end of the row.

Add a different color yarn to the first chain made (as pictured below) and chain 4, 8 treble crochets in each chain space space between double crochets of the previous row on the other side.

Chain 3, turn, slip stitch in next stitch, {chain 3, slip stitch in next stitch} repeat until you reach the end of the row.

To make heart ties (make 2 in different colors):
Chain 6, 4 treble crochet in 5th chain from hook, 2 double crochet in same stitch, 3 half double crochet in first chain, chain 2, 3 half double crochet in first chain, 2 double crochet in next stitch, 4 treble crochet in same stitch, chain 4, slip stitch in
same stitch. Chain 40.

Connect both ties to the double crochet in the middle of the bath puff and weave them through the double crochets in the middle of the puff just as pictured.

The great thing about this bath puff is that you can tie it while you are using it, and untie it, make it flat to let it dry faster.

  5. I'll have to give this pattern a try. I used a different pattern and it wouldn't dry all the way between showers. This one seems like it would dry more easily. Thanks for sharing!

  6. Before the Sun Goes Down, Thank you for the feature!

Heidi, I hope you like it! I had the same thing happening all the time, and I don't like wet bath puffs. This one does the trick for me!

  7. I LOVE it! I modified it slightly. Instead of attaching the ties in the middle, I attached one from each end. I weaved the ties through in the opposite direction- one above the double crochet, one below the same stitch

The result was that if you pulled both ends at the same time, the middle scrunched up on it's own.

I plan to try this on Christmas colors and use little pine trees as pulls.
